Visit the N Seoul Tower, take the gondola up to the top of the mountain where you can see the tower
and admire the many love locks you’ll see on the way up.
You can also place your own lock right there. You can bring along your own or you can buy one over there. Arriving at the tower, you can enjoy the great view over Seoul.
If you like, you can go up the tower or take a massage in a massage chair inside with a great view.
On some days you are lucky and a traditional event takes place.
Like live music with traditional instruments, dance performances or sword performances.
Underground Station: Myeong-dong

What should not be missed during your trip to Seoul is a visit to Gangnam.
There is a lot to discover from malls, stores and various cafes and restaurants.
What’s definitely worthwhile is a walk along the Kpop road to see the
beautifully designed figures of a few Kpop bands.
Underground Station: Apgujeongrodeo

If you like to take a walk, you should definitely walk along the Cheonggyecheon Stream.
In the evening it is especially beautiful because the stream is illuminated
and the houses around it are brightly lighted.
If you come in May, you can see something very special there.
Every year on Buddha’s birthday there is a lantern festival over there
and you see a lot of beautiful lanterns lighted in the stream.
This is a personal tip from me.
Underground Station: Jonggak

Seoul offers a lot for art fans, from art fairs to exhibitions and hundreds of smaller galleries.
One of the big art museums is the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA),
which is located several times in and around Seoul.
You can discover everything there; classical paintings, sculptures or digital art.
Crossing genres and eras.
Underground Station: Gyeongbokgung

One of the most important and beautiful places to visit is the Hangang,
the river that runs through Seoul.
It is one of the main attractions in Seoul and it’s completely free.
My top 3 activities at the Hangang I highly recommend are having a nice
breakfast in the morning at the waterfront, a bike tour at the Hangang,
just riding down the river on a city bike and taking a break where you want.
Per app, you can really easily rent a city bike at several stops and just start riding.

And last but not least, a picnic in the evening in the yeouido Hangang Park.
At night you will meet lots of Koreans who have borrowed blankets and tables there.
They come in pairs or groups and order some food in the park.
If you walk from the subway in the direction of the river, you will pass numerous stalls selling
food and drinks or blankets and tables, especially on weekends.
If you prefer to eat something else, you can easily order food in the park with Korean delivery apps
or go to a nearby convenience store to buy snacks and drinks.
The classic picnic food is Chimaek, which is fried chicken with beer.
Underground Station: Yeouido

The Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is a park area with a large, unusual, abstract building.
The building is impressive during the day, but it looks especially beautiful in the dark,
because at night it is fully illuminated.
The architect of the DDP was Zaha Hadid, a famous architect
who is known for organic shapes in architecture.
It is worth going to the plaza in the evening and walking around.
The building is also a venue for exhibitions.
You can check online in advance which exhibitions are currently taking place, which can range from classical paintings to Gucci archetypes or to the world of Tim Burton.
If you are lucky, there might be an exhibition that interests you.
Underground Station: Dongdaemun History & Culture Park

What you have to see at least once in the evening is the Rainbow Fountain at the Banpo Bridge.

depending on the season.

You will often hear of the Lotte company in Korea, whether it is the Lotte Tower,
Lotte Department stores or Lotte World.
Lotte is a large Korean food company that has managed its way up at the global market.
If you like a little action, you should take a trip to the Lotte Tower.
The tower is the highest in Seoul and you can take the lift to the highest level, a viewing platform.
You can first go shopping in the Lotte department store and afterwards
you can go directly to the top of the tower.
At the top, you have a great view all over Seoul.
Underground Station: Jamsil

If you like thrills, you can go to the glass floor and look all the way down to the street.
After your trip to the top of Lotte Tower, you can take a relaxing walk around
Seokchonhosu lake and have a look at Lotte World from the outside.
Lotte World is an amusement park located on the lake.
Underground Station: Jamsil

Very interesting, especially for book lovers, is the Starfield Library in the Starfield or Coex Mall.
You walk in and you are surrounded by huge bookshelves.
Thousands of books on every subject you can imagine are available on two floors.
Of course, most of these books are in Korean but a few are also in English.
If you like reading one of them, you can just pick one and read it directly there.
There is space for sitting everywhere; benches, workstations
or a place in their own little cafe on the upper floor.
Underground Station: Bongeunsa or Samseong

What you should not miss on a vacation in Korea is a karaoke evening.
In Seoul there are many places where you can go for karaoke.
In many parts of the city there are karaoke houses called Noraebang.
Those karaoke houses are all very similar.
You buy a number of songs at the entrance and then you can go into a karaoke room.
The rooms are different in size, so you can sing with larger groups together in one room
or just two people in a smaller room.
Underground Station: for example Honig Univ.

If you know local Koreans or if you speak Korean, it will be a bit easier the first time because
most of the Noraebang have their TVs and remote controls in Korean.
Don’t worry about the songs, there are a lot of English songs in every genre.
A karaoke evening is a lot of fun and I can only recommend it.

If you want to get to know the Korean culture, you can rent a hanbok at many places in Seoul.
A Hanbok is the traditional clothing from South Korea.
There is a Hanbok for women consisting of a dress and a jacket
and one for men consisting of pants and a jacket.
In the rental shop, you can choose between different colors and styles.
Usually you rent a hanbok for 1 or 2 hours and wear it at a traditional place like the Hanok Village.

I can recommend renting a hanbok for 2 hours and going to Bukchon Hanok village.
In 2 hours, you don’t get into too much stress to return the hanbok.
Bukchon Hanok village is a small neighborhood with old traditional houses.
It is definitely worth a visit.
Underground Station: Anguk

I would always rent a hanbok again and visit the Bukchon Hanok village.

You have to visit at least one royal palace in Seoul. My favorite is the Gyeongbokgung Palace.
You can easily spend half a day there because you can see a lot; old houses,
old palaces, tea houses and a large lake.
I love to spend my time there because I’m in nature
and I’m also learning a lot about the Korean past.
Many tourists also wear a hanbok in places like royal palaces
because you get free entry dressed in hanbok.
The admission is not that much. It’s about 3000 won.
Underground Station: Gyeongbokgung
