A big thing in South Korea is visiting cafés.
Koreans have a strong coffee culture, so they love to go to cafés.
You really can find a cute café on every corner in Seoul.
You can be sure that no matter where you go, you will find a nice little café.
Visiting cafés is a small social event, as Koreans often meet there
with their partners or in groups of friends.
For special experiences, there are many themed cafés that offer
special decor or theme-based drinks and pastries.
It is impossible to write about all the cafés in Seoul,
so I have picked out a few unique ones.
The Pink Pool Café

The name of the Pink Pool Café is the motto.
The interior and wall paintings are pink and there is a pool at the back of the café.
The furniture and decor has a 1920s look, and the pale pink of
the fabrics and colours match beautifully.
The modern mix with the pool gives you ‘the great Gatsby’ vibes.
The café is located in Hongdae, a very interesting part of Seoul,
on the top floor of the Stylenanda store.
So, if you feel like enjoying a coffee in a stylish 1920s atmosphere after shopping,
you should go to the Pink Pool Café.
The selection of drinks and cakes is also quite large and very tasty.

The Greem Café

In the Greem Café you can find something very unusual,
because the entire interior is designed in a 2D concept.
As soon as you enter, you see everything inside in 2D and black and white.
The look is so special and different from anything else found in cafés.
Everything has been painted in black and white for the effect; the furniture,
the decoration, the walls, and the floor.
Even the plate and cup that you get when ordering is designed to this effect.
It is an absolute must visit.
You can spend a nice shopping day in Hongdae, stop by the café and enjoy delicious
coffee and cakes, before heading out into the nightlife of Hongdae.

Cheong su dang Café

If you want to get an authentic Korean cafe ́ feeling, visit the Cheong su dang in Hongdae.
Here you have the romantic café vibe even before you enter.
The garden and the walkway to the café are beautifully decorated with trees, plants and lights.
You walk to the entrance on step stones through trees and bamboo and pass a small waterfall.
In the café you have 3 floors, each in a different style.
All are very harmonious and fit perfectly into the natural theme.
On the ground floor, you can have a seat on the floor with cushions at a
large window, next to the waterfall.
This adds something special to the café because it is a Korean tradition to drink tea on cushions.
If the spot is not taken, you should have a seat there and enjoy the view.
Inside, you can order drinks and delicious desserts, such as a pavlova.
Be sure to visit Cheong su dang Café in the evening for an especially cosy atmosphere.

Nudake Café

If you ever take a trip to Gangnam, and you should, you have to stop by the Nudake Café.
The café is currently hyped because it is so different from the others.
As in most theme cafés, it’s not about the interior, but about the cakes and pastry selection.
You won’t find regular cakes and pastries here, but you can buy a
great variety of cakes in unusual colours and shapes.
Many cakes are black or white, the filling or cream is often green,
and each piece looks like a work of art, while tasting excellent.
I can only recommend that you visit the Nudake café, because you will only see such cakes here.
Don’t be too late, because otherwise many pieces are already sold out.
